I saw another study come out posted by a friend and committed diabetes advocate Gary Hall Jr. He was able to excel in the Olympics despite being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The new study show that uncontrolled diabetes is likely responsible for 3 times more deaths than previously thought because of it being a comorbidity or secondary problem when heart disease is often listed as the cause of death. The impact can translate to how much research is funded if the real impact is in the shadow of heart disease. Consistent exercise, diet,,timing of eating and staying injury free all play a role in management. I am pre-diabetic myself so I am watching the research closely and acting on it. Here is the link to the article and a second link to Gary’s story.
